Basic Taalas(Rhythm):- Taals is noting but the Rhythm, it is time interval of beat and bols are required to make the taal. Matra is noting but the time interval between two bols. One taal have fixed number of bols. and same will be played on tabla repeatedly called Avartan.
Tabal is the instrument where you can play the all taals.

TaLaya :- Taals been played in speed call laya. There are three types of layas used while playing.
1) Vilambit Laya : - Slow tempo of bols/beat. like between 10 to 80 tempo.
2) Madhya Laya : - Medium tempo of bols/beat. like between 80 to 140 tempo.
3) Dhurat Laya : - High tempo of bols/beat. like between 160 to 640 tempo.
Taal Signs :
X - First taali (Clap)
0 - Khali (No Clap) (Empty Space).
2 - 2nd Taali (Clap)
3 - 3rd Taali (Clap)
4 - 4th Taali (Clap)
Taal Khand/Part :- Taal is divided by Column with group of bols called Khand.
Matra :- Is noting but the time interval between two bols.
